Tonight's Show is On:

Tonight's performance by 3-Four-3 will go on as scheduled. Showtime is 6 p.m. If you love good rock n roll, you'll enjoy this group. Very solid in every respect, they are truly a group of fine performers. Lead singer, Tom Hoffman, who doubles as a Troy police officer, is a great entertainer, who just grabs the crowds attention with his talent.
And please folks, leave the doggies at home for the show. Put the TV on Animal Planet, and Fido will never know you've left the house. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available at the show. Tonight's 50/50 raffle will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Bring your lawn chair!

Final Show at Powers Park:

Sept 4 will mark the final show of the 2010 Powers Park Concert Series. Cop Rock group, 3-Four-3, will take to the Neil Kelleher Stage at 6 p.m. for the grand finale of the summer season.

The group has opened shows for a number of national acts, and has a large local following. Two of its members (Bassist/singer Tom Hoffman & Drummer Steve Seney) are both Troy Police officers who moonlight as rock n roll musicians -- and do a fantastic job at it! They play a wide variety of top ten hits as well as their own, original tunes. Their performance will mark their first appearance at the Historic park, and promise to be a real crowd pleaser. Enjoying Troy Yet?

It's been one incredible summer season here in Troy. Troy Night Out party, the last Friday of each month runs throughout the year, under the guidance and direction of Elizabeth Young of the Troy Downtown Business Collaborative-- working in tandem with the city administration. It's a great thing to see Troy alive, for all the right reasons, with good people enjoying our business district - just like the good old days. Music filling the streets, with happy shop owners servicing consistent crowds of shoppers, and window shoppers. My kudos go out to Elizabeth, along with her co-workers and staff for the great job and badly needed infusion of fresh ideas and energy, in helping to revitalize the downtown area.

River St. Festival, held in June was once again a wonderful celebration of food, art, and diverse music. More than 10 thousand attended this years event, which seems to be growing larger every year. Another fine collaboration between the city and the Troy DBC.

Troy Pig Out was just completely OFF THE CHARTS! More than 30,000 carnivores came, ate, and partied at this event. Great music and wonderful food over two days.

Rockin on the River is another idea which has grown to huge proportions. Every Wednesday evening throughout the summer, had thousands of music fans (who might not otherwise come to Troy) jamming the bars and restaurants, up and down River St.

Say what you want about our Troy city events. Knock them, try to find fault with them, but the bottom line is this -- people are starting to see our city as a destination now. Their dollars are coming to our city, benefiting our merchants, and to find something to rag on regarding them, is just petty and immature. I'm proud to be a part of them.

Uncle Sam Jam Coming on Saturday:

If you love great rock n roll, do not miss this Saturday's show at Powers Park. The 5th annual, Uncle Sam Jam will this year tie in with a Classic Car show at the historic park. The show begins at 2 p.m and ends at 8 p.m. Veteran guitar slinger John Morse opens the show at 2 p.m., with Chris Busone taking to the Neil Kelleher Stage at 4. The incredible Killer B's with, Joe Mele, Frank Daley, and 14 yr old guitar sensation, Jared Alpern at 6.
There will be a 'Super Jam' at the end of the evening that you do not want to miss. More to come on this show later in the week.

Rockin On The River Finale:

Blue Hand Luke will be performing tonight's, swan song final show of the season, at Troy's most popular weekly event. Featuring the amazing Tommy Love, Blue Hand Luke has been acclaimed by many as the top rock n roll party band in the great Northeast. Comprised of some of the most respected veteran musicians in the area, Luke and the boys promises to pull out all the stops for tonight's show.

If you love great rock n roll, do not miss this show. Showtime is 5:30 p.m.

Tonight's 'Retro Rock Night' at Powers Park is on. It's a beautiful day for a free show, right in your own neighborhood. Historic Powers Park is a perfect setting for a perfect night with your family. It's free to the public, and there's plenty of fun festival foods available, along with a variety of non alcoholic beverages, pizza, and ice cream. A face painter is on hand every week for the children's enjoyment. Stations from Albany Broadcasting are also there weekly, giving out a variety of freebies including, movie and concert tickets.

The fabulous Greyhounds take to the Neil Kelleher Stage at 6 p.m. If you love old style rock n roll, you'll really enjoy this group of true retro rockers. The Powers Park Concert Series is a family event so we ask people to adhere to the no alcohol, and no dog policy in effect.
