This Week at Powers Park:

Teenage country sensation Renee' Lussier, with her group, Branchwater, will be performing at Powers Park this Saturday, July 31 at 6 p.m.
Having worked with Renee' over the past 5 seasons, it's been fun watching her grow up to become the wonderful performer she is today. She covers both traditional and modern country, along with some of her own songs she's written.
Renee' is an amazing talent, so if you love country, do not miss this show.
Food and beverages are available at the shows. And please, leave the dogs at home.

See Ya All Real Soon:

On Vacation -----------Gone Fishin!

Amazing Weekend:

Troy was really hopping this weekend. The third annual Troy Pig Out seemed to be more popular than ever, even in the stifling heat. Kudos to Elizabeth Young for the fantastic job she did in coordinating the event. It's hard to believe that Mayor Tutunjian' idea has grown into this Fucillo HUGE food fest, which brought thousands of people into our fine city.
Powers Park was also filled to capacity on Saturday, for the Al Bruno Oldies Show. It's a beautiful thing seeing all the people coming to Troy for our festivals and concerts. I've heard people in the past actually criticise the mayor for these events. All I can say is that if the detractors can show me another way of getting thousands of people here to spend their hard earned dollars, well, I'm all ears.
Don't forget, Wednesday night at Rockin on the River will feature a performance by Blues master, Albert Cummings. Showtime is 5:30 p.m. Blue Hand Luke will headline the Powers Park Concerts on Saturday, July 24. Showtime is at 6 p.m. Admission to the show this week is 1 bottle of water, which will be donated to the fireman stationed at the Harry Dahl Firehouse at 115th & 5th Ave.

Show's On:

Cryin Out Loud will be taking the stage at 6 p.m. for tonight's kickoff of the, Powers Park Concert Series. Bring a lawn chair.

Sorry Trader Ed's:

My apologies to Trader Ed's. In today's print edition of the Record, they were omitted as a supporting sponsor of the Power's Park Concert Series. This was MY mistake, and not the Record's. I wrote the copy, it was my error. Trader Ed's is a valued contributor to the concert series , and many other community activities around the 'Burgh. I promise to actually proof read what I write in the future.

Powers Park Tonight:

Tonight's Powers Park concert as of right now is ON! The rain seems to be moving out slowly, so I'm extremely optimistic that this evenings performance by Cryin Out Loud will go on as scheduled. I'll be updating the status again at 3 p.m.
